We are now accepting visitors and residents to our Higher Visions Healing Arts Community. It is a fledgling intentional community, dedicated to living in harmony with the Earth, and connecting Body, Mind and Spirit while developing healthy life-patterns. We practice & teach yoga, healthy eating, art, and numerous other healing modalities. We are fully licensed to host massage and workshops as well as offer spa and massage treatments. Principal therapist is Sherri Carden and our MAE is 2203.
We hope to integrate spirituality into our lives through prayer and fire circles, yoga, healing and art activities, working with the land and animals, and practicing a virtuous lifestyle. Our goal is to become a living example of heaven on earth, a place to nurture your spirit and express your creativity.
We are in Keaau, 25 minutes from downtown
Hilo
, 20 minutes from Pahoa and 45 minutes from Kiluaea volcano. We are in a lush, tropical location with numerous trees and tropical plants. The property is three acres, and there is another three acre lot adjoining the property which we have “light use” access. Many of the animals here are free range and include a miniature donkey, mountain goat, Shetland Pony, goose, duck, chickens, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, fish and a turtle.
Through community living and compassion, our hope is to:
* Promote wellness among all the participants.
* Create common ground for communication.
* Simplification of lifestyle.
*
Opportunity
to share meaningful experiences.
*
Opportunity
to share meals and chores.
Temperature is normally mild: 75-85º F daytime and 65-70º F nights, although some winter nights can be somewhat cool with temperatures in the 50s. We get plenty of rain, mosquitoes, lizards, and other rainforest critters. Life here involves physical labor and simple living. Our water supply is UV filtered rain-catchment water, and we expect conservation of all areas, including propane and electricity use. We are interested in people who want to contribute from their heart and will care for one another as family.
Accommodations are tent structures under tarps and occasional use of one of the cottages, upstairs suite or treehouse. We expect 20 hours per week of “Malama Aina” which means to care for the land and includes nursery work,, creating eco-dwellings using existing materials and lumber from property, including rainbow eucalyptus and Ohia (cutting of trees is very selective). We have found that there is a great deal of instruction involved for the orientation of new people, so we like people to pland on staying at least two weeks. Visitors usually pay $89 per night, so this is an awesome opportunity.
Higher Visions is a sanctuary for developing holistic life-patterns for sustainability, cooperation and caring for the land . We hope to convey this to everyone who visits through our lifestyle.
If you feel touched by this vision and would like to share in this opportunity for growth, we'd love to hear from you. Please know that we are still a work in progress, and with all processes of manifesting our vision, we have humble limitations. We ask everyone to please bear this in mind when considering joining us.
It is our sincere hope is that by embracing the idea of sharing the work and the vision, we can have more time to pursue our own creative efforts. We welcome your feedback and look forward to hearing from you!
